Data & Permissions Usage Disclosure

This Data & Permissions Usage Disclosure describes what information the LM Welder Control App (“the App”) uses, why it is required, and how it is handled. We are committed to transparency, privacy, and user safety. All permissions are used strictly for functional purposes and are never sold or shared with third-party marketers.

By using the App, Wireless Remote, Marketplace, or any LM Weld Control ("LMWC"),  LM Welder Repair (“LMWR”) services, you agree to the data practices described below.

1. Location Data

Why we request access:

• To show nearby welding shops, service centers, and support locations
  
  

• To sort marketplace listings by distance (“closest machines first”)
  
  

• To estimate the distance between buyers and sellers without revealing exact addresses
  
  

• To display general regional information for certain app features
  
  

What we collect:

• Approximate location only (city-level or radius-based)
  
  

• Exact GPS coordinates are never shown publicly or shared
  
  

What we do NOT collect:

• No permanent storage of exact GPS data
  
  

• No background tracking
  
  

• No sharing of location data with advertisers or third parties
  
  

You may disable location permissions at any time; however, some features (map, distance sorting, shop finder) may not function.

2. Microphone Access

Why we request access:

• To enable voice commands such as:
  
  

  • “Welder voltage 60”
    
    

  • “Increase amperage”
    
    

  • “Start welder” (depending on setup)
    
    

What we collect:

• Microphone audio is processed only in real time for voice commands.
  
  

What we do NOT collect:

• We do not record audio
  
  

• We do not store audio
  
  

• We do not share audio with any third-party service
  
  

• We do not use the microphone for monitoring or tracking
  
  

Microphone access is never used outside the voice-command feature.

3. Bluetooth Access

Why we request access:

• To pair with LM Welder Control hardware
  
  

• To communicate with wireless adjustment knobs
  
  

• To send/receive machine settings and commands
  
  

• To monitor welder parameters from the phone
  
  

What we collect:

• Basic Bluetooth connection information
  
  

• Connected device ID (non-personal)
  
  

• Command communication between app and hardware
  
  

What we do NOT collect:

• No scanning for unrelated devices
  
  

• No tracking via Bluetooth beacons
  
  

• No sharing of Bluetooth data
  
  

Bluetooth access is required for remote control features to function.

4. Photo & Media Access (If Used)

(Enable on your app only if users upload listing photos.)

Why we request access:

• To allow users to upload images of welding machines for Marketplace listings
  
  

What we collect:

• Only photos the user selects manually
  
  

What we do NOT collect:

• We never access your entire photo library without consent
  
  

• We do not upload or store any photos unless you intentionally select them
  
  

• We do not use EXIF GPS data
  
  

• We do not scan device storage
  
  

5. Account & Profile Information

What we collect when you create an account:

• Name
  
  

• Email address
  
  

• Optional profile information
  
  

• User ID for login purposes
  
  

• Seller information (city/state only)
  
  

Why we use it:

• To identify your account
  
  

• To save your preferences
  
  

• To allow posting marketplace listings
  
  

• To sync your welder settings and maintenance logs across devices (if enabled)
  
  

What we do NOT collect:

• No Social Security numbers
  
  

• No financial data (unless using a 3rd party payment provider—not included in this app)
  
  

• No private identification documents
  
  

6. Cloud & Database Storage

When using the marketplace, syncing features, or account login:

• Photos uploaded to marketplace listings

• Exact home or precise location

LMWC follows industry-standard protections.

9. Marketplace Safety Data

To protect users:

• Location-based “closest listings” uses internal calculations—not public map pins
  
  

• Meetups are arranged privately and at your own discretion
  
  

10. How to Manage or Delete Your Data

You may:

• Revoke permissions at any time (via device settings)
  
  

• Request account deletion
  
  

• Request data removal or export
  
  

• Disable microphone, Bluetooth, or location features
